Bathroom Project

This was our first major poject. Took off work for a week hopeing to finish it, three months later almost done. Special thanks to Lisa's dad for all his help without him we would never have got this done, and to everyone that had to listen to me complain about nothing going right and freaking out and throwing my grout bag and cursing. Thanks sweety.

This is the before shot. Not bad looking we didn't care for the colors, paint or tile. Not for this bathroom at least, but we knew that the white panel along back of the shower stall was put there for a reason. You could tell it was fit in there after the fact to hide something or to temporally rig something till someone got the chance to remodel. Well now is the chance.

Lisa's dad did this one for us it was out of my abilities. He replaced the whole shower rough with a new one.

Cleaning out the old shower drain we came across this. Disadvantage of buying a foreclosed house, they are often not cleaned well before moving in.

We know nastiness awaits us behind that white panel in the shower.

We have removed this stuff since, but there it all sat on the deck for months.
Yep removing the old toilet and taking it to the deck. I should have recycled it and used it as a planter.

So after removing that white panel on the back wall of the shower we found tile and rotted drywall that just crumbled out. I believe some mold also. Nasty.

Long story. In a nut shell we did not have hot water for about 2 months after moving in. Several reasons. So we would boil water and wash with a wash cloth in the claw foot tub. It's all part of the adventure.

Replaced a lot of drywall with the Durorock cement board. Hopefully won't rot like the other stuff did .

Spacers used to keep the spaces even.Even the spacers couldn't help me keep the space even.
New light fixture.

It still amazes me how this keeps the poop in the chute.

These are ceramic tiles, they look like hardwood planks though.

Our new Dual flush water saving toilet. Hit one button for number 1 and both buttons for number 2.

My father in law also helped replace the window in the shower. It was cracked and old probably the original window. Unfortunatley every window in this house will need to be replaced over time.

We decided on a contemporary vessel sink bowl.

New shower head and all.
